Akron Symphony Orchestra's 2021 Interlude Gala

April 15, 2021, Akron, Ohio — The Akron Symphony Orchestra’s 2021 Interlude Gala will be held online from April 23 through May 7!

The signature event of the Interlude Gala will be a free livestream program on April 29 at 7 pm with Theresa Carter, president of Synthomer Foundation, as the Emcee. The livestream - which will be available on the ASO’s YouTube channel - will include some special guests and musical performances as we celebrate the many ways we have brought the community together during our Interlude Season.

Make your Gala celebration even more spectacular with your very own VIP Party Package! Two Akron Symphony wine glasses, a bottle of wine and an assortment of sweet and salty treats for two will help set the stage for a festive evening! VIP Packages will be available for purchase beginning on April 16 for $100 each. Supplies will be limited, so purchase your package early.

Our online auction opens on April 23 at 4 pm and features terrific items donated by local businesses and patrons, and flexible donation packages, all available via mobile bidding. Featured items in the auction include:

  • ASO Concertmaster Tallie Brunfelt performing live for an hour at the winner’s house or private event.
  • A catered party with live music from Jilly’s Music Room.
  • One year of music lessons from Trillium Schools of Music.
  • A two-night stay at The Glidden House and a gift card to L’Albatros.

There will also be a raffle drawing for a $500 gift card to BestBuy.

The Akron Symphony’s 2021 Interlude Gala will commemorate our unique Interlude Season, our gift to the Northeast Ohio community, with another innovative event. All proceeds benefit the Akron Symphony, Akron Youth Orchestras, Akron Symphony Chorus, and Gospel Meets Symphony Choir for our community-oriented performances and educational programming.

Theresa Carter is the President of the Synthomer Foundation (fka OMNOVA Solutions) a $25 million endowment supporting local communities throughout Synthomer’s footprint in the USA. Her passion for bringing communities together and creating tomorrow’s leaders is reflected in her role in the Foundation, which in 2020 provided nearly $1.2 million in support to educational initiatives, civic investments, health and human services, and the arts. Theresa’s purpose-driven mission is to inspire volunteerism and empower others to give back to the community. She is active in her church, and serves on a number of non-profit community boards, advisory councils, and committees throughout Northeast Ohio.
