From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., children will have the opportunity to fill up their passport as they visit and interact at multiple holiday craft stations. Some of the stations will include cookie designing, building fun Home Depot kits, participating in the “paint your own snowman” workshop, enjoying a live DJ, engaging in interactive play sessions, taking photos with Elsa and Anna, visiting with Santa and much more!
There’s fun for adults as well, who can sign up for the holiday canvas painting experience, participate in a community service project, and pick up items in the Monster Shop for the holidays! Families will also have a chance to purchase raffle tickets to win a giant climbing wall just in time for the holidays. Winners of the Step2 Skwyard Summit will be announced at the event.
The Akron Children’s Museum will also be holding a Bags of Love Drive at this event. All new socks, stuffed animals, journals, coloring books, pens, small crafts, nail polish, lip balm, crayons, collected will be given to children at Akron Children’s Hospital through the Kylie Rose organization in Summit County.
“ACM’s goal is to be the community’s go-to place for fun, learning, exploration, and memory-making,” said Traci Buckner, Executive Director of the Children’s Museum. “We welcome volunteers who want to be part of this magical day! That’s what makes Hands-On Holidays special, everyone is involved!” Those interested may call the museum at 330-396-6103 or e-mail email@example.com.
“Thanks to our dedicated event chair, Katie Koblenzer-Orendorf, children will be busy playing and exploring while parents and community members have fun supporting the museum’s programming and growth,” Buckner said.
Tickets to this event are $10 per person and are now available for purchase at www.akronkids.org. Please note, space to this special museum event is limited, so be sure to purchase your tickets as soon as possible!
