Akron/Summit Convention & Visitors Bureau Launches Akron[RE]bound

April 6, AKRON, OH — Akron/Summit Convention & Visitors Bureau is pleased to introduce akron[RE]bound. The new initiative (www.akronrebound.com) was created for Akron/Summit County hospitality industry partners, community stakeholders and local/regional residents. As circumstances created by COVID-19 continue to have negative impacts on Greater Akron’s hospitality industry, akron[RE]bound will provide information and strategies to regain the momentum our community has worked so hard to achieve.

Currently, the web site’s sections include: industry partner resources, ongoing recovery strategies, sector research, digital partner engagement opportunities, and links to online event calendars. “We want to underscore the interconnectivity of the hospitality ecosystem with overall local employment, education, quality of life and positive economic impacts,” states Gregg M. Mervis, President & CEO, Akron/Summit Convention & Visitors Bureau and John S. Knight Center. “By working together, we will be better equipped to meet current and future challenges, while developing strategies now that will accelerate our local recovery,” Mervis adds.

The initiative is a work in progress and will continue to evolve as the overall situation and specific circumstances change; new information will be posted as it becomes available .“Our resilience, collaboration and ingenuity are the pillars upon which we will rebuild our dynamic local hospitality industry and community. We have to be there for each other in every way possible and lean on one another now more than ever,” states Mervis.
