HOURS: Perkins Stone Mansion and John Brown House tours. April-December. Wednesday-Saturday. 1-4 pm. Fee charged.

Founded in 1924, the mission of the Summit County Historical Society, a 501(c)3 corporation, is to preserve and interpret the history of Summit County and Akron, and to educate regional communities about the people and events that have shaped our rich history.

The Perkins Stone Mansion, a Greek revival built in 1837; the Mansion was the home of Simon Perkins, Jr., the son of Akron's co-founder Simon Perkins.  The Perkins Stone Mansion will be open for tours starting April 5, 2017-December 2017 on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 1-4:00 p.m.  Closed January-March. Admission is charged

The John Brown House, the Akron home of the renowned abolitionist will be open for tours starting April 5, 2017-December 2017 on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 1-4:00 p.m.  Closed January-March. Admission is charged.
