This Saturday, June 6, both Goodyear Blimps will be cruising over all 24 Akron neighborhoods. They’ll loop around in a big spiral through each section, so no matter where you are, you’ll have a great chance to spot them. Keep your eyes on the sky—it’s going to be a blast!

- 9:30-10am: Ellet, East Akron, Middlebury, & Goodyear Heights
- 10-10:30am: Chapel Hill, Cascade Valley, & North Hill
- 10:30-11am: Merriman Valley, Merriman Hills, Wallhaven, Fairlawn Heights, Northwest Akron, & High Hampton
- 11-11:30am: Highland Square, West Akron, Sherbondy Hill, Summit Lake, & Kenmore
- 11:30am-12pm: West Hill, Downtown, University Park, South Akron, Firestone Park, & Coventry Crossing
BLIMP DAY PHOTO CONTEST
The City of Akron is hosting a Blimp Day photo contest to celebrate the inaugural Blimp Day holiday on Saturday, June 6! 📷
To participate: Take your best photo of one or both of the blimps on Saturday, June 6 for Blimp Day. Limit of 2 entries per account.
Post it on Facebook or Instagram. (If you don’t have social media or have a private account but want to be considered, send your photo via email to press@akronohio.gov with your information.)
Make sure to tag the City of Akron (@AkronOhio on Facebook and/or @akronmayormalik on Instagram).
Deadline to enter is Saturday, June 13.
There will be one grand prize winner who will receive an Akron prize package with Blimp and Akron merchandise!
Important note: No AI generated/altered images will be considered for the grand prize. And bonus points if your photo incorporates or includes a uniquely, recognizable Akron place in it!
Submitting photos grants the City of Akron permission to use tagged photos in future Blimp Day marketing with credit to the photographer.
