Celebrate Traditions at Akron ArtWalk on Dec. 10

Akron, OHIO (Nov. 22, 2021) — This holiday season, the Akron ArtWalk will be a festive evening of art, food and fun! Celebrate the theme of Traditions on Dec. 10 at Summit Artspace and at participating venues in the Historic Arts District.  

Summit Artspace will be open from 4-8 p.m. Resident artists and pop-up vendors will offer special holiday gift-giving ideas and the galleries will be open for visitors to walk through the current exhibitions. A portion of Summit Street will be closed outside of the building for food vendors, and Ron White will carve an ice sculpture on-site. DJ Ace Epps, The Mickeys and Terry Lilley will play tunes throughout the building, and there will be pop-up performances from Rubber City Ukes and Genesis Experience Theatre. Visitors can fill out an ornament with their favorite holiday tradition and add it to Summit Artspace’s tree, and can submit their hand-created postcard for the Akron Art Mail program, a collaboration between the Akron Art Museum, the Akron-Summit County Public Library, and exhibition partner Summit Artspace.  

The Akron Art Museum will be open until 8 p.m. and will host “the world’s greatest Christmas band,” Missile Toe, for a Christmas song concert. The Nightlight Cinema will be playing C’mon, C’mon (Showing times TBA). In the Northside District, the Northside Cellar will be open until 5 p.m. and Zeber-Martell Gallery and Clay Studio will be open until 6 p.m. Musica will present mewithoutYou, a band from Philadelphia. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the concert begins at 9 p.m.  

Parking for ArtWalk will be available in the lot between Summit Street and Broadway Street, accessible from Mill Street (but not Market Street).
