ms consultants, inc., a multidiscipline engineering, architecture and planning firm, has moved its local operation to the United Building in downtown Akron .
The United Building is located at One South Main Street at the main intersection of the city on the corner of Main and Market Streets. The building was built in 1924 by the United Cigar Company of America , and is the anchor of the Main-Market Street Historic District listed on the National Register for Historic Places.
Thomas E. Mosure, president of the company, says that “We had been looking for some time to move to a more prominent location within the city. We are excited to be in the heart of downtown’s historic district for expansion and be a part of the hub of business and commerce for the community.”
The office will initially be staffed by 11 professionals – a mixture of transportation and environmental engineers, environmental planners and GIS specialists.
ms consultants has been in Akron for 26 years, having first opened a local office in 1983. The firm has ranked in the Top 500 firms nationally since 1987, according to the annual rankings compiled by Engineering News Record.
