200 S Main St, Akron, OH 44308
Lock 4 is an exciting new space in Downtown Akron, opened in 2010. The rushing water of the Ohio-Erie Canal creates multiple water falls through Lock 4 that, along with the historic brick facades of some of the oldest buildings in the city, give the space a distinctly urban feel.
Again this year, the staff at Lock 3 will be programming blues and jazz concerts in the Lock 4 performance space beginning Wednesday, July 18, and continuing on consecutive Wednesday nights through September 5.
The LockBottom Blues & Jazz Club is “down under” Bowery Street, adjacent to the city’s popular Lock 3 concert venue, and is connected directly to the Cascade Parking Garage, which provides direct access to Lock 4 from level two (orange). Walkways from Bowery Street and from Lock 3 are other entrances to the event.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase in the Peroni Beer Garden, sponsored by Tramonte Distributing Co. Admission to the concerts is free, and is supported by the City of Akron, together with funds from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, given in support of performing artists at Lock 3 this summer.
