First Night® Akron is a New Year’s Eve celebration unlike any other! This family-friendly, alcohol-free celebration in Downtown Akron brings the community together to experience a brief moment in time while creating lasting New Year’s Eve memories. This celebration of the arts features the region’s best in music, dance, theatre, interactive and visual arts. Entertainment and fun will delight the whole family!

First Night Akron is in its 15th year! Proposals for First Night Akron are now being accepted for all performing and visual arts. We encourage artists of all disciplines: musicians, dance groups, theatre groups and visual artists to submit a proposal to perform at our New Year's Eve celebration of the arts on December 31, 2010.
*Special consideration will be given to projects that incorporate the celebration of First Night's 15th year or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) elements.
*All proposals are due June 18, 2010.
