The 2017 Disney hit leads off Canal Park’s series of three summer movies
The Akron RubberDucks announced today that the 2017 hit Disney film, “Beauty and the Beast,” will be the first Movie Night at Canal Park in 2018, showing on the stadium’s giant HD video board on Sat., June 9 at 6 p.m.
“We are excited to have another opportunity to bring affordable, family fun to Canal Park, even while the team is on a road trip. This is the sixth year for our Movie Nights at Canal Park and they have proved to be a perfect way for families to spend time together and create an experience they will never forget,” said RubberDucks General Manager Jim Pfander.
Tickets are $5 and will benefit the Summa Health Foundation. Children ages 3 and under enter for free. Gates will open at 5 p.m., and families will have the opportunity to play and relax in the outfield grass of Canal Park before the film is screened on the 26’ x 68’ HD video board, one of the largest in Minor League Baseball. No outside food or beverages are permitted in the ballpark.
The RubberDucks will host its second Movie Night at Canal Park on Sat., Aug. 4, with the film yet to be announced, which will benefit the American Cancer Society. The other film shown at Canal Park will be during the Fourth on the Field special event, which has taken place each Independence Day since 2015 when the ballclub has been on the road. Details for Fourth on the Field will be announced soon.
