The Akron Zoo is once again offering ZooCamp programs throughout the summer for children two through 15 years old. ZooCamp runs June through August and one-day, three-day and five-day camps are available, as well as full-day and half-day camps. Registration is required, and spots fill quickly.
Early Childhood camps are offered for children ages two – five and a caregiver must accompany the child. Camp activities include free play, stories, music, crafts, animal encounters and more. New camp themes are available, like Butterfly Kisses, Animal Yoga and Nature’s Play, as well as returning popular themes, such as Z is for Zookeeper.
ZooCamp sessions are also available for children ages five – 15. Children must complete kindergarten by June 2018 and children should be signed up for the camp that reflects their age as of June 1, 2018. These camps include a tour of the zoo, chance to meet zoo staff and keepers, animal encounters, a t-shirt and more. Some camps also include a behind-the-scenes tour. New camp themes include Wild Babies, Conservation Crusaders and Training 101, along with returning themes of Working at the Zoo, Zoo Vet and more.
