$5 ticket special for Saturday part of big Memorial weekend at Canal Park

Saturday features Rubberta bobblehead, Viva Las Vegas Night, Elvis, & Las Vegas flight giveaways

Memorial Weekend is one of the summer’s most exciting times at Canal Park, with giveaways, celebrity appearances, and the fan-favorite themed-fireworks shows, and the Akron RubberDucks are celebrating with a special $5 ticket deal on advanced-purchased reserved seats for Saturday’s 6:35 p.m. game vs. Bowie Baysox.

Saturday’s game is loaded with fun for the whole family. When gates open at 5:30 p.m., the Rubberta bobbleheads will be distributed to the first 1,000 fans, courtesy of Cleveland Clinic Akron General. The night’s promotional theme is “Viva Las Vegas,” with a special appearance by Elvis and flights to Las Vegas being given away during the game, courtesy of Akron-Canton Airport and Spirit Airlines. Concluding the night will be a bonus fireworks show performed to the music of Hall & Oates, rescheduled from April 7’s postponement.

Fans can take advantage of the $5 ticket deal by purchasing in advance online at, by calling the Canal Park box office at 330-253-5153 or by visiting the box office in-person. The box office is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on non-gamedays and 10 a.m. through the end of the game on gamedays.

The four-game homestand starts tomorrow at 6:35 p.m. vs. Bowie when the highly-anticipated $1,000 Cash Dash returns to Canal Park after the game and it will immediately be followed by ABBA-themed fireworks show.

A rare night game is scheduled on Sunday at Canal Park with a 6:35 p.m. game vs. Bowie. Gates will open at 5 p.m. for Akron Zoo Quack Pack members and 5:30 p.m. for general audiences. The night’s theme is Junior Mythbusters and a there will be a Beach Boys-themed fireworks show after the game. This will all be in addition to the normal Akron Children’s Hospital Family FUNday activities such as pre-game catch-on-the-field and post-game run-the-bases, which will take place following the fireworks.

Memorial Day has a 1:05 p.m. start. The United States Air Force Reserves have a planned flyover as Canal Park becomes a day for families to spend time together and remembering the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to the United States. A special all-you-can-eat picnic option is available for $22, which includes game ticket and food buffet that starts two hours before first pitch.
