For the first time in 20 years, the Akron Symphony Orchestra will perform Verdi’s great Requiem, a work Hans von Bülow described as “opera in church vestments.”

It begins in hushed prayerful tones and closes with an impassioned plea for salvation. In its most famous “scene,” trumpets surround the audience as if on Judgment Day.

Verdi's Requiem is one of the greatest and most popular of all choral works. We will welcome the Akron Symphony Chorus and the Summit Choral Society to the stage for a powerful evening of music.
