Ice Skating Performances
Akron's sister city of Chemnitz is famous for producing champion ice skaters, including Olympian Katarina Witt. Enjoy performances set to music by world-class skaters from Chemnitz. Immediately following their performances, the German skaters will offer informal skating instruction on the ice.

Countdown to First Night(r)
Akron's largest community art installation is also the largest advent-style calendar in the U.S.! View the dramatic unveiling of local children's artwork in Lock 3 Park daily as we countdown to the 12th annual First Night Akron celebration! Following the Countdown, gather around the Holidayfest Entertainment Stage as Akron area entertainers help the crowd get into the holiday spirit.

A unique Christmas Market featuring vendors from Akron's sister-city of Chemnitz, Germany selling handmade items such as glass and pewter ornaments, wooden toys and decorations, as well as bratwurst, soups and other authentic German food in The Hutzenstub.

Pre-School Skate
Pre-school age children receive a free skate rental with an adult or older sibling skate rental. Skates available for rent start at a child size 6. Young siblings are welcome on the ice but pre-schoolers must be accompanied by an adult. Please note: Accompanying adults may wear street shoes on the ice only during pre-school skate times.

Chriskindl Carousel
Take a ride on this delightful full-size carousel. A holiday treat for kids and adults alike! It's $1.00 a ride and tickets are available at Lock 3 Park Information Desk. All proceeds benefit Akron Children's Hospital.
Historic Holiday Trolley Tours
Saturday, Dec 8, 11 am
Enjoy a 50-minute tour of historical downtown Akron aboard the Holidayfest Trolley. Tickets are available for $1 per person at the Lock 3 Information Desk. The trolley departs from the Lock 3 trolley stop on Main Street. Seating is limited.
Chriskindl Tours
Take a 30-minute guided tour of the Chriskindl Market. See exclusive crafts demonstrations, learn a few German words and hear some interesting facts about Akron's sister city of Chemnitz, Germany. Tours leave from the Lock 3 Information Desk. FREE

Holidayfest Trolley
Take the Holidayfest trolley to access the wide variety of Holidayfest event locations, parking, restaurants and more around downtown Akron. Simply look for the blue and red FREE SHUTTLE sign in the areas designated on a trolley route map to catch the next ride. Trolleys run approximately every 15 minutes. Arts & Crafts Demonstrations
View live demonstrations by German craftsmen. Glass painting, glass blowing and woodworking will be showcased inside O'Neil Commons daily.
Akron History Exhibit and American Toy & Marble Museum
Once the site of the American Toy Marble Manufacturing Co., Lock 3 Park now features a unique museum showcasing a collection of glass marbles, highlights of the game of marbles and exhibits from Akron's industrial past, from canal boat building to lighter-than-air technologies.

Lock 3 Park is located at 200 South Main Street in Downtown Akron. Holidayfest parking is available in the State Street deck and other downtown locations.
