The Leukemia & Lyphoma Society will host the kickoff event for its annual Light The Night Walk® on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the Spaghetti Warehouse in Akron, Ohio. The kickoff event is an opportunity to connect with fellow walkers and team captains as well as a chance to brainstorm fundraising ideas.
The Kickoff is from 5:00-7:00 p.m., with dinner being served compliments of Spaghetti Warehouse. Those in attendance will also hear motivational stories from Cleveland’s honored hero, Hannah Kretch.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk is the nation's night to pay tribute and bring hope to people battling blood cancers. The Walk features participants walking a one-mile route and carrying colored balloons - white for survivors, red for supporters, and gold in memory of someone who has lost their battle with cancer. Funds raised benefit vital, life-saving research and patient services. In fiscal year 2009, individuals, families and corporations from across the country who participated in Light The Night raised over $39 million.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world’s largest, private organization concerned solely with finding cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improving the quality of life of patients and their families.
The Akron Light The Night Walk will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at InfoCision Stadium at the University of Akron.
