New Activities Include Photography Club, Restaurant Club and "Knit and Nosh"
Downtown Akron Partnership (DAP) is preparing for another exciting summer in Downtown with its GO: Get Out of the Office initiative. Many favorite mid-day events from last year will be back and new activities have been planned to make Downtown Akron the place to be this summer! GO is a program dedicated to getting Downtown employees out of their offices and into the Downtown area, utilizing all the great businesses and amenities that Downtown has to offer.
GO Events
Go events include a wide variety of activities such as walking tours, fitness days, outdoor recreation, book clubs, music concerts, sneak peeks and behind the scenes looks at new community projects. Downtown employees are welcome to come enjoy a variety of events that help to promote health, stimulate thought and community, and break up the monotony of the average work day.

New This Summer
Along with bringing back favorite events from last summer, DAP has put together a list of new, exciting events! This summer DAP welcomes you to learn the basics of Tai Chi and yoga with free lessons starting in June at Lock 3. The Akron Art Museum will host "Knit and Nosh." On the third Thursday of the month, Downtown employees are invited to the museum with their yarn and needles, to grab a quick bite to eat while chatting with fellow knitting enthusiasts. The Photography Club is another new group for Downtown employees with a passion for photography. Every second and fourth Thursday of the month, photography enthusiasts meet to share new skills and participate in interactive photography activities. The Downtown Restaurant Club will meet on the second and fourth Mondays of each month to visit Downtown restaurants. Members of the club will discuss meals with other members and then have the option to write reviews of the food, service and atmosphere for the GO blog.
Downtown Akron Partnership's GO program runs through September. Visit the DAP website at www.downtownakron.com/getoutoftheoffice for event listings and to sign up for the GO e-mail list. New activities are added regularly, so keep checking back. Check out the fun and informative activities that Downtown Akron Partnership has planned for your work week.
