Summit County Hospitality Academy Call for Nominations

The Akron/Summit Convention & Visitors Bureau is accepting applications for the 3rd annual Summit County Hospitality Academy.

Launched in September 2009, the Academy is an educational outreach initiative designed to empower middle-level employees across Summit County's diverse & vibrant hospitality industry.

The Academy will be held on the second Wednesday of each month from September 2011 through May 2012. Each monthly session will feature two 1½-hour educational tracks including: regional historic/economic overview; public/elected officials & tourism advocacy; interpersonal communication; fiscal responsibility; conflict resolution; workplace diversity & special needs visitors; team building & staff training; business & social etiquette; partnerships & destination packaging/marketing; volunteerism; authenticity & brand loyalty; crisis management & creative problem solving; green tourism; and customer service & satisfaction.
