Do you have a favorite place to shop in the Akron area? How about a favorite spectator sport, outdoor activity or place to visit with your significant other?
The Akron/Summit Convention & Visitors Bureau's Summit Up! promotion is asking residents to share stories of their favorite places and activities in Greater Akron, by way of Facebook and Twitter. The categories include: Point of Interest, Outdoor Recreation, Music, Spectator Sport, Shopping, Family Activity, Couple’s Activity, Theatre, Visual Arts and Culinary. You can submit your entry by clicking the links above or searching for "Summit Up! 2011" in Facebook and "@summitup2011" in Twitter.
The top three to five stories in each category will be voted on at the Summit Up! 2011 event May 7 at the John S. Knight Center. The stories or experiences that receive the most votes in their category will win a $500 prize package and also be eligible to win the Grand Summit Up! prize package.
The May 7 event, from 6 to 9 p.m., is free to attend and also incudes live entertainment, exhibitor booths and special offers and discounts. Free space is available for interested exhibitors by calling (330) 374-8945.
