The Akron Art Museum teams up with the Akron-Summit County Public Library and Summit Artspace for a day of free family events during November’s Sunday Sampler.
At the Akron Art Museum, open 11 am – 5 pm, enjoy free gallery admission to the collection. At 1 pm Kent artist Charles Basham will demonstrate his outdoor painting technique and speak about the impressionist influence on his work. This will be the first Sunday Sampler to see Michelle Droll:Landslide/Between a Rock and a Place and SuperNatural: Landscapes by Bruce Checefsky and Barry Underwood. Gallery admission is required for Landscapes from the Age of Impressionism ($7 adults; $5 seniors and students; members and children 12 and under free). Summit Artspace will be open from 12 – 5 pm and will feature Akron Society of Artists 80th Anniversary Show. Admission: Adult general admission is $7, Student and Senior (65+) general admission is $5, Children (12 and under) are FREE, members are FREE. On the first Sunday of every month, individual admission to the collection is FREE. Special exhibitions may require paid admission. No tours available on these days.
