WhiteSpace Creative, a 26-member Akron-based integrated marketing resource firm, has selected 19 area non-profit organizations to benefit from its eighth-annual CreateAthon® event. The intense, around-the-clock marathon, which provides pro-bono marketing and communication creative services to local organizations, will be held from 8 a.m. on Thursday, September 17, to 8 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2009.
The 19 qualifying applicants were chosen based upon those whose requests best match the creative talents of the WhiteSpace staff and could be completed within the 24-hour period. This year's non-profit organizations include:

* Women's Network, Inc.
* OneCommunity
* Rubber City Roller Girls
CreateAthon was founded in 1998 by the South Carolina-based agency RIGGS. Since the program’s expansion from a single market to an international effort in 2001, 42 agencies have joined the CreateAthon network, holding CreateAthon events in their cities. This effort has benefited 1,008 nonprofit organizations with 2,143 projects valued at $8.4 million. WhiteSpace is the exclusive CreateAthon agency for the Akron/Canton/Cleveland area.
