Local independent coffee purveyor Nervous Dog is on a growth spurt, with plans to open a third shop this fall on South Main Street in downtown Akron.
Nervous Dog owner Michael Litt, 45, on Thursday celebrated the grand opening of his second coffee shop at 4161 Steels Pointe Drive in Stow near Stow Municipal Court.
The first Nervous Dog opened in 2006 at 1530 W. Market St., near the Wallhaven area of West Akron.
The downtown shop is slated for a vacant spot between Brubaker's Pub and the Jimmy John's sandwich shop in 22 Exchange, the apartment complex for college students at Main and Exchange streets.
The Stow location opened quietly a few weeks ago, while the formal opening was Thursday. The site previously housed a Rico Latte coffee shop.
