METRO’s 20-Year Plan Needs Community Input

What are you doing in 20 years? METRO Regional Transit Authority is attempting to answer that question and needs input from Summit County residents.

METRO has begun developing a plan to guide the implementation of a transit network over the next twenty years. Feedback and thoughts from the community are welcomed and needed.

“We need your input on how METRO can best drive the transit future of Summit County,” said Catondra Noye, METRO director of planning.

As a part of the planning process, METRO will study all of Summit County and the potential transit linkages to nearby counties.

New transit technologies will also play a role in discussions.

“Local bus, bus rapid transit, light rail, commuter rail, and streetcars  are on METRO’s mind. We want our riders to think big and think outside the bus,” said Noye.

METRO is holding a series of community outreach events throughout the year. The events will provide the public with the opportunity to learn more about the study elements and contribute to the development of plan guiding METRO during the next 20 years.
