Marathon Training 101 Workshop

Primary Objective:
Marathon Training 101 is a workshop offered through The University of Akron to students and community members alike that incorporates a running training program covering topics such as nutrition, physiology, biomechanics, running performance and other training principles. This course gives participants the  knowledge and tools to complete a full marathon. The 2010 Road Runner Akron Marathon is September 25, 2010. Visit www.akronmarathon.org for more information.

Class is limited to 30 participants!

Dates/Times:
Start Date: Tuesday June, 1st, 2010
Finish Date: Saturday Sept 25th, 2010 (Race Day)
17 week program
Meetings: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings
6:30 to 8 a.m.

Where:
InfoCision Stadium, The University of Akron

Pricing
$300 which includes:

  • Road Runner Akron Marathon Registration
  • Bod Pod and VO2max and submax testing
  • Support for  training runs
  • Class Technical Shirt

Course Involves:
Up to three supported weekly runs, independent runs, and speakers from UA Sport Science and Wellness Department, Sports Nutritionist, Marathon staff, Legacy Runners, and local running experts.

Credit/CEUs:
Up to 3 Fall 2010 graduate/undergraduate credits are available at an additional cost.
