The 11th Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Akron walk will take place Oct. 17 at Lock 3 Park. Registration and the program will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the walk at 10 a.m. The event honors and celebrates breast cancer survivors and supports the society’s mission to save lives by helping people stay well, helping people get well, by finding cures and by fighting back against the disease, according to society officials.
