Akron-based singer/songwriter and activist, ZACH, will be bringing his “Luminosity Experience” to downtown Akron’s historic Gothic Building on Friday, August 26 to celebrate the release of his 14th CD, “Luminosity.”
Recorded at UHF Studios in Cleveland during the gray skies of this past winter, the theme of light—literal and figurative—runs through many of the songs on this latest record, as well as through the band’s overarching philosophy. As such, this concert will turn the ground floor of the Gothic Building into a literally luminous place, and all attendees at the show are invited to bring their own light-up clothing or other glowing items to participate.
Opening the show will be the Cleveland area’s Winslow (funk/soul) before Zach and the Bright Lights take the stage with their unique brand of kinetic, soulful rock.
In addition to the concert, Zach and his four-piece band, the Bright Lights, will host a potluck dinner, free and open to the public, before the show. Concert attendees are welcome to arrive early with a dish to share, and all can enjoy meeting the band members and other fans. Beverages will be available.
The Luminosity Experience takes place at the Gothic Building (56 E. Mill St., Akron, OH) on August 26 at 7 p.m. Cover charge $10. Potluck dinner with Zach and the Bright Lights begins at 5:30 p.m. and is free. Copies of “Luminosity” will be available at the show.
ABOUT ZACH AND THE BRIGHT LIGHTS
After a bout with appendicitis derailed his high school basketball career, Zach discovered his love for writing, singing and performing his own songs. He has not only gone on to release fourteen full-length CDs and formed the Bright Lights, but has also toured nationally, playing over 200 shows a year, and sharing the stage with performers such as Blessid Union of Souls, Chicago, the Gin Blossoms, Farm Aid and many others. The Bright Lights are Charlie Trenta (guitar/backing vocals), Neil Keating (bass/backing vocals), Michael Marotta (keys) and Chris Maneri (drums).
