Join First Night Akron at the Artwalk in Downtown Akron this Saturday, October 2 to celebrate the 15th Year of this New Year’s Eve event! On Saturday, First Night will launch a 15 Year Photo Contest, host a 15 Scavenger Hunt, offer a 15 Year Craft, and sell 15 Year Celebration admission buttons. Visit the First Night table at Mocha Maiden, 19 Maiden Lane, Downtown Akron, 6-9 p.m. for photo contest and scavenger hunt information, the 15 Year Craft or to purchase your 15 Year Celebration admission button for only $15.

15 Scavenger Hunt
Can you find the 15 locations in the Artwalk that are hiding 15 Year admission buttons and displays including the number “15”? Pick up a 15 Scavenger Hunt information sheet on the trolley, at the First Night table at Mocha Maiden, or in any of the galleries in the October Artwalk footprint, and start looking for the number “15.” Once you’ve found all 15 of the locations, turn your information sheet in at the First Night table at Mocha Maiden for your chance to win a First Night 15 Year Celebration Prize Package including four 15 Year admission buttons or one of three two-packs of 15 Year Celebration admission buttons.

15 Year Photo Contest
You can be a part of the First Night 15 Year Celebration by entering the 15 Year Photo Contest. Get creative with the number “15” and submit your photos that represent “15” in a unique way! Photo ideas include interesting places that you find “15” appears naturally or 15 objects manipulated to fit in to the photo. The sky is the limit for photo composition!

Photos submissions will be accepted beginning this Saturday, October 2, 6-9 p.m. at the First Night table at Mocha Maiden during the Artwalk in Downtown Akron, and will be accepted through Wednesday, November 24.

Judging will take place during the Saturday, December 4 Artwalk at Summit Artspace, 140 E. Market St., Downtown Akron. Visitors to the Artwalk will vote to determine the winners of the 15 Year Photo Contest. Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity, photographic quality and adherence to the “15” theme.
