Filming of 25 Hill, Corbin Bernsen's Soap Box Derby-themed movie, has been extended through Tuesday, and many extras are needed to play derby fans and families. The newspaper failed to publish this information in time, so we really need the community to come together to make this work. Contact your child's teachers and ask them to reach out to their school theater and musical groups. Use your networks! Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts -- all are welcome. All children will be interested in the process, but the experience will be particularly valuable to those who want a performing arts career. 25 Hill is a Hollywood film, and we never know if we'll get this chance to see this level of production up close again.
This film is a COMMUNITY project to benefit the derby, so schools may consider giving volunteer credit hours.
Filming is taking place at Derby Downs at 789 Derby Downs Drive in Akron from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Prize giveaways include autographed scripts, posters and Film Crew t-shirts. Please reach out to friends and family. Bring a picnic and some games to play during lulls between scenes
