After two months of voting, six business in Downtown Akron have topped the charts by winning the “Best of” awards in their respective categories for the 2010 FOX 8 Akron-Canton HOT LIST.
The HOT LIST, an interactive city guide hosted by FOX 8 and powered by CityVoter, allows consumers to recommend, review and vote for their favorite local businesses. FOX 8 supporters nominated area businesses for various HOT LIST awards, and winners were selected based on a popular vote.
Each category received more than 38,000 votes and the top four businesses with the most votes in each category are listed online at the FOX 8 website.
House of Hunan was chosen over 16 other nominees for Best Chinese as part of the “Great Meals” category.
In the “Cheap Eats” category, Wafa's won for Best Healthy Lunch and Wing Warehouse took the award for Best Wings for the third consecutive year.
Brubaker's took the award for Best Irish Pub in the “Nightlife” category.
In the “Arts and Entertainment” category, the Akron Civic Theatre took the award for Best Theater.
Best Portrait Photography in the “Shopping” category went to Carmen Studio Photography.
