Dedication of Rosa Parks Drive

Mayor Plusquellic will host a dedication ceremony for Rosa Parks Drive, the new street across from the METRO Transit Center that runs east-west from Main to Broadway, on Wednesday, March 31, 10:30 a.m. at the Transit Center.

The ceremony will celebrate the unveiling of the new street sign and will include the following speakers:

  • Mayor Plusquellic
  • Ophelia Averitt, President, Akron Chapter, NAACP
  • Robert Pfaff, Executive Director, METRO Regional Transit Authority
  • Marco Sommerville, President, Akron City Council
  • Ken Jones, Ward 5 councilman
  • Music: Leslie Parker-Barnes, Minister of Praise & Worship Arts, Arlington Church of God, "We Shall Overcome"
