ArtCetera Kick-off Event on Friday, March 11 Aims to Bring Together Young Professionals and Art Enthusiasts

Young Professionals Arts and Culture Group to re-launch during Fresh Art/Current Affairs opening reception at Summit Artspace


In conjunction with the Fresh Art/Current Affairs opening reception at Summit Artspace on Friday, March 11, 5-7 p.m., ArtCetera will re-launch after a two-year hiatus. Akron area young professionals and art enthusiasts are encouraged to attend for an evening of unique art and networking.

The re-launch event will take place on the third floor of Summit Artspace. Attendees will meet ArtCetera organizers, see the new ArtCetera logo, learn about the calendar of events and discover benefits of joining the group.

Summit Artspace will be filled with activity on March 11 including the Fresh Arts/Current Affairs opening reception, a new exhibition opening on the third floor at the Artists of Rubber City Box Gallery, and five resident artists’ studios on the third floor will be open for visits. The 12 uniquely painted Children’s Concert Society violins will also be on display and raffle tickets will be available for the March 26 Sweet Melodies fundraiser at Fairlawn Country Club.

ArtCetera, a project of Akron Area Arts Alliance, is a membership organization that offers young professionals and arts enthusiasts a great way to get involved with the arts. The mission of ArtCetera is to develop and enhance an appreciation, understanding and continued support for the arts among younger members of the Greater Akron community.

ArtCetera presents a diverse mix of events every year combining arts experiences with networking and socializing. Events are held at arts and cultural venues and include museum tours, live performances, art exhibits and demonstrations.

Summit Artspace is a project of the Akron Area Arts Alliance in cooperation with Summit County government.  It is located in a historic building at 140 E. Market St., one block east of the Akron Art Museum.  The gallery is supported by the Akron Community Foundation, Summa Foundation and Ohio Arts Council.
