The Akron Marathon, Presented by Time Warner Cable, has extended the deadline for participants to have their names appear on their race bibs. The new deadline is August 19; previously it was August 12.
All marathon and half marathon participants, as well as complete relay teams, who register by August 19 will have the option of having their name or a nickname on their race bibs.
The Akron Marathon is one of the few races that offer this added benefit.
"It’s our way of further personalizing our world-class event," said Anne Bitong, Akron Marathon Executive Director.
The marathon will take place on September 24 in downtown Akron. Participants can register at www.akronmarathon.org.
