Akron Film: Missed Connections

Akron Art Museum
Sunday, April 10, 1 p.m.

This Akron Film project is your chance to get the creative wheels turning by making a film and having it shown to a live audience, all within a few weeks. Filmmaking teams from around Northeast Ohio will each draw a Craigslist Missed Connections post from a hat. They'll use that post as the basis for a five minute movie, which they'll have two weeks to make. The projects will be viewed at a wrap-up event on Thursday, April 28, 7 p.m., and judges and the audience will pick the winner. The winning team will receive $250, and the film will be screened again as part of the Akron Film Festival, October 6-9, at the Akron Art Museum.

There is a $20 entry fee per team and no limit to team size. Teams must supply their own cameras and other equipment. The competition and the free screening are both open to the public. There is a sign-up form at www.akronfilm.com

All completed movies are due April 23 if submitted by mail, April 24 at 3:00 p.m. if submitted online, or April 24 between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m. if submitted in person in the lobby of the Akron Art Museum.

More information as well as a sign-up form for the event can be found at www.akronfilm.com.
