Akron Film Festival Submissions Being Accepted

Submissions are open for the September 2010 Akron Film Festival, but only until the end of July! Examine the reasons to submit your work.

This Thursday the 10th at 7pm is another edition of Film Club, which is like a book club but faster. Unless you hear differently, we'll be watching and discussing Eric Rohmer's short film “The Bakery Girl of Monceau.” It's the first of his classic series Six Moral Tales. It's free thanks to the Akron Art Museum. Meta-discussion afterward at the Lockview.

At the beginning of August there will be another filmmaking contest a la the popular New History of Akron from December. This time it's Movie Mash-ups, wherein we provide two randomly paired [real] movie titles, and over the course of two weeks, you make a short film combining them. More details about rules and sign-ups are on the way.

In conclusion, this month's free equipment orientation will be held Sunday, June 13th at 1pm at the Akron Art Museum. Feel free to come every month, no registration required.
