The Akron Aeros are on a hot streak. Akron has won seven consecutive games and have moved out of last place in the Western Division of the Eastern League.
On Sunday, Akron blanked Harrisburg 3-0 for win number seven in a row.
It was pitching that led the Aeros to the win. Nick Hagadone, Paolo Espino and Connor Graham combined on a five-hit shutout to improve Akron's record to 27-30. Hagadone got the win, his record at 1-0. Graham earned his first save.
On offense, the Aeros scored a run in the fifth and two more in the eighth. Carlos Rivero had two hits and an rbi. Lonnie Chisenhall had a hit and two runs batted in.
Akron is now in fifth place in the Eastern League's Western Division, 10-games behind the Altoona Curve. The Aeros are in fifth place, one-half game ahead of Erie.
The Aeros have the day off. They'll be back on the baseball diamond Tuesday night at Canal Park to begin a six-game homestand. Tuesday night, Akron will play host to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
