Hanging flower baskets and nearly four dozen planters are adding seasonal beauty to downtown Akron.
And now, businesses are able to adopt their own planter through the Downtown Akron Partnership:
"We had been hearing for the past couple of years people loved our planters and wanted to know how they could get involved. Typically, our staff would come in on a Saturday and have a big planting day. But we wanted to allow different employees in downtown to help us out," says DAP Spokeswoman Lisa Knapp.

She adds businesses can be reimbursed $25 for the purchased plants, which will contain a garden stake identifying its adoptive business or organization.
Volunteers from 22 businesses added their own unique touch to the vibrancy of Downtown by selecting and planting one or more of the planters.
Throughout the summer, DAP ambassadors will water the blossoms.
Knapp says it gives residents a "sense of place in Downtown and allows them something to be proud of. The employees who have invested their time and energy in this feel a sense of ownership in their work place."
DAP has been decorating the city with flowers for 10 years.
