A Night of Jazz

Save the date!

The Firestone High School Instrumental Music Association is very excited to share a night of Jazz with the city of Akron!

The time is now to start inviting friends and family to this city event!

The event will take place Friday, February 12 at 7 P.M.

Join Firestone High School for a wonderful night of Jazz at the Akron City Centre Hotel – 20 W. Mill Street Downtown Akron. The location is the fabulous cityscaped 19th Floor ballroom in downtown Akron. Students & alumnus professional musicians will perform that evening sharing their incredible talent for all to see. The event will showcase an evening of jazz, dinner, dancing, silent auction and cash bar. All students of instrumental music at Firestone High School in Akron benefit from this worthwhile event; keeping music alive and thriving in our Akron Public Schools.

Firestone High School Alumnus Heather Burns of 91.3 The Summit will be the Mistress of Ceremonies that evening.  Radio partner 91.3 the Summit will be there with their “Music Alive” program. This event will be a collection point for older instruments that are gathering dust and needing a bit of TLC. These instruments will be collected and refurbished by Taylor Music and be returned to the hands of area music students in our schools. By donating your old instruments you can contribute to music in a child’s life.

Akron Life and Leisure is generously supporting this cause and will be lending a hand that evening. They will share through their magazine the many wonderful opportunities for the arts in our Akron area.
