Who knew a career reporter with three decades at the Akron Beacon Journal under her belt could reinvent herself as a quilt artist? Connie's studio is located on the 3rd floor of Summit Artspace, 140 E. Market St. in Downtown Akron. The retired ABJ reporter makes art quilts that look like paintings but are made of hand-dyed and handpainted cloth. Intricate free-motion threadwork adds close-up detail.
