The Akron Bar Association is dedicated to improving the administration of law and justice by fostering community service, educating the Bar, improving public understanding of the law and justice system, and promoting the integrity of the profession.
DEVELOPMENT DESCRIPTION: The Akron Bar Association just opened its new headquarters at 57 S. Broadway, the site of the former Akron Fire Station No. 1. This is the Bar Association’s first permanent home after 132 years.
The Fire Station was built in 1915. The building’s $3 million renovation took 18 months to complete. The building has three floors and a basement and a total of about 23,000 square feet, including an addition that houses the emergency stairway and an elevator. The Bar Association has about 3,000 square feet for lease on the third floor of the facility.
