DEVELOPMENT DESCRIPTION: Advanced Elastomer Systems is the world's leading supplier of engineered thermoplastic elastomers. AES relocated its corporate headquarters to the renovated former B.F. Goodrich Building 41. Currently AES occupies two floors or 155,000 square feet and plans to expand into an additional 74,000 square feet of office space. AES now employs 250 people, including 75 employees who were transferred from St. Louis.
The City of Akron invested $7.4 million into the award-winning AES Building. Private investments exceeded $25 million for this project. The building totals 540,000 square feet and was developed by The Tell Company and is now owned by the Schipper Group.
Children’s Hospital Medical Center of Akron opened a combination therapy/rehabilitation center on this site.

The City of Akron recently completed an 825-car surface parking improvement between Canal Place and AES to accommodate both facilities parking needs (see Parking Initiatives).
A 425-car parking facility is being constructed by the Schipper Group on the west bank of the Ohio & Erie Corridor and will be connected directly to the AES building via a pedestrian bridge.
