StoryCorps®
Everybody’s story matters. Every life counts. That’s why the national oral history project StoryCorps is traveling the country recording the stories of our lives with the people we care about. Each conversation is recorded on a free CD to take home and share and is archived for generations to come at the Library of Congress. Millions listen to StoryCorps broadcasts on National Public Radio and on the StoryCorps website at www.storycorps.org.
StoryCorps will be at Main Library recording interviews from July 17-31. Stories recorded at the Library will be archived in the Special Collections Division as well as in the Library of Congress. StoryCorps’ visit to Summit County is made possible by grants from Akron Community Foundation and the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation with support from the City of Akron and WKSU.
Sign-ups begin June 22, and interview slots are limited. For more information please call the Special Collections Division of the Main Library at 330-643-9030.
