A Greek revival built in 1837; the Mansion was the home of Simon Perkins, Jr., the son of Akron's co-founder Simon Perkins.
Visitors to the Simon Perkins Stone Mansion and the John Brown House will be returned to a period 180 years ago when Akron’s Founding Family moved into the fledgling canal town’s grandest home on “Mutton Hill.”
Regular tour hours will run through December 2017, Wednesdays through Saturdays from 1-4 p.m. Cost is $6 per adult, and $4 for seniors and $2 for students. SCHS members are free. Tours will include both the Perkins Stone Mansion and the John Brown House, home of the renowned abolitionist.
