First Grilled Cheese Festival at The Lockview

 The Lockview is having its First Annual Grilled Cheese Festival on Saturday March 27, 2010 at 8 p.m. The festival is giving customers the opportunity to create their own sandwiches from the cheeses, breads and toppings offered. Most of the grilling will be live in the dining room, along side DJ Dave spinning from Square Records and DJ Adam of Revival. There will also be prize drawings, a reverse raffle and Lockview giveaways. Reservations are recommended for this event.

Known for their gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and extensive beer selection, The Lockview celebrated its two year anniversary this past November. The owner, Danny Basone, decided to celebrate the grilled cheese niche the Lockview has created, take it one step further, and hold what he hopes will become an annual event for Akron.  This is not your mother’s grilled cheese; in addition to the ingredients that are already on the menu, Basone plans on bringing in a variety of out of the ordinary items to build your grilled cheese.  Who knows, maybe your creation will end up on the menu as lucky number 13.

The Lockview also offers an extensive wine menu, as well as refined top shelf liquors such as various tequilas, scotches and bourbons. Located across the street from the Akron Civic Theatre and Lock 3 Park, The Lockview has an atmosphere that’s unique to Downtown Akron, as it offers something for everyone.  The growing list of 160 plus craft beers encourages customers to experiment and try something new, along with some help from our friendly bartenders and staff.
